P02    2001, 103-119
 103
 RE installed on water tower.
Zero tilt at approx 20Z.
111  Serial cable falls out, no data after about 20Z.
 114 Cable re-connected at 20Z, 3 days data lost.
 119
Data plots show a bad ground fault, maybe. PSP nightime values are noisy and from 0 to 200 W/m^2.
PIRu values are non-sensical.
Sweep data show some noise, but the signals go to zero at night (a good sign) and so might be usable. But the gains seem low when compared with P06 and P07.
P02 sweep (channel 1) is low. When in full sunlight the signal is only 2000 mv while other units are about 2800 mv. Gains are all the same.
122 SS and RE arrive in Tucson to look into the noise and grounding problems.

P06 (JAMSTEC)     2001, 103-110
 103
 Re and Hanyu install.
PSP ground fault problem (maybe). Nighttime values are noisy and around 60 W/m^2.
PIRu around -150 W/m^2 and computed PIR about 220 W/m^2.
Tcase and dome track very well with no nighttime offsets. (USING YSI TABLE).
Zero tilt at around 20Z. Pitch jumps from -1 deg to 0 deg then to 1.1 deg after screws tightened.
Roll jumps from -1.8 to zero then up to +1.9deg after securing screws.
Az aligned at 20Z. Jumps from 215 deg to 41 deg approx.
During the night the Thead was about 17C when the outside temp (Tcase) was 8C. Heater was very weak.
Shadow values to 900.
Specific comments on sweep data during analysis:
channel 2 (415 nm) is very noisy.
channel 5 saturates at 1800 mv. The electronic circuit was calibrated to 4000 mv and should be fine.
channel 7 (water vapor) is pegging at 4096 mv. Could this be from such dry air?
110 Instrument removed and returned to Japan.

P07 (JAMSTEC Mirai)     2001, 103-110
103
RE and Hanyu install.
PSP ground problems. Nighttime values around 30 W/m^2 and very spiky.
PIRu around -150 W/m^2 and computed PIR is approx 210 W/m^2, but the behavior does not correlate with P06.
Tcase and Tdome track very close to P06. No nighttime offsets. (USING YSI TABLE).
Zero tilt at 20Z approx.
Pitch jump from -.4 deg to zero and holds after screws tightened.
Roll jump from -.9 to zero then to 1.3 deg after screw tightened.
Az jumps at 20 Z from 210 to 40 deg approx.
Thead holds +/- 0.1 C day and night.
110 Instrument removed and returned to Japan.

P08 (OLD P97 UNIT)     2001, 103-119+
103
RE installs instrument.
PSP cable error. No PSP data until 106, 21 h approx.
PIRu around +175 W/m^2 and behaves oddly compared to P06/P07. PIR computes to 550 W/m^2 and very spiky day to night.
Tcase and Tdome track very well, no nighttime offset.
Zero tilt at 20Z approx.
Pitch jumps from -2.3 to -0.1 and holds after screw tightening.
Roll jumps from -1.7 to zero then to +0.5 deg after screw tightening.
106  PSP cable installed at 23 Z approx.
 107
PSP shows nighttime offset like all the rest. Approx 60 W/m^2 and noisy.
Note that the
123   RE/SS service system. Noted the PIR thermopile wiring is reversed. Corrected.

P04 (RSMAS)     2001, 123-++
 123
RE and SS install unit.
130
 Review data for 123-130
PSP offset, as all the rest. PIR looks okay, but might have some offset.
Head temperature is looking very bad. Stable in day, but VERY hot at night.
