Recovered the Peconic mooring at approx 0830. Acoustic release functioned OK. The recovery was easy and we were back to the dock at 0930.

 

The buoy had considerable bio-fouling. Barnacles were on all surfaces including the sensors.

 

The electronics were all operating correctly. Battery voltage was 11.5 vdc indicating about 50% discharge. Data were recovered from the memory and stored on file name P980812.dat.980624

Attempted a mooring using the LIU vessel. Problems with the data. Transmissions were OK, but a signon message with battery = 0 indicated problems. Aborted the launch.

Possible fouling of the sensors noted. Chl sensor max value. Drift in the Salinity.

Repeater 11 (BNL met tower) has ceased to operate, probably due to lightning storms. Yesterday, when a reboot was attempted, the electrical box failed which necessitated calling in electricians. The repeater was repaired.

 

Telemetry loss from 980630, 1131 to 980701, 1816.
